All other employees work primarily on-site at a Company-designated location and occasionally from home/remotely on a schedule determined by the Company. Accommodations
Disability accommodations are reasonable modifications to a job or the work environment that enable an employee with a disability to perform the essential functions of their job. Accommodations may be temporary or ongoing, depending on the individual circumstances, and they are meant to support an employee with a disability without changing the essential requirements or expectations of their job. Requests for accommodations are guided by Company policy and certain legal requirements.
Essential job functions are the key duties that are fundamental to the performance of a role. Essential functions cannot be removed or changed because doing so would fundamentally alter the role itself.
There is a wide range of accommodations that may be available to employees, depending on the nature of their condition and job duties, as well as business needs. Some examples of accommodations may include, but are not limited to, adjustments to the physical workspace, schedule modifications, additional breaks during the workday, lifting restrictions, service animals, assistive technology, and flexible work arrangements.
While each person's situation is individual and there is no one formula to capture how the accommodations process proceeds for all employees, Employee Relations will schedule time to meet with you to learn more about your request, explain the full accommodations process, and answer any questions you may have. Accommodation requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and Employee Relations will determine if any supporting documentation is needed. If a reasonable accommodation is possible, Employee Relations will discuss with you how it will be implemented and any future follow-up that may be needed.
Yes. You are encouraged to initiate a request as soon as you feel an accommodation is needed to perform your essential job duties due to a disability. We understand it may take some time to see a health care provider. When feasible, your accommodation may be temporarily granted for a reasonable amount of time while you are working on getting your medical documentation. This type of temporary accommodation may not always be feasible depending on the circumstances.
